Cheap Forms of “ME TIME”

Everyone likes to have alone time. If you say you don’t, you’re full of bologna! Some people are able to manage their time well and have some alone time every day while others rarely ever get that time. If you’re a stay at home mom like myself. You may be wondering what is this “me time” she speaks of? I’m not saying it’s an easy thing to come by in my home either but a few times a week, I make it possible.

I’ve been trying to get creative in ways to “escape” my family and have some peace and quiet without spending a ton of money and without ever having to leave my home! So I’ve compiled a list of ways you can get that “me time” we call crave!

1. Go for a Walk!.

~I like to do this in the mornings before my husband leaves for work. It is a great way to get up and get going, it’s healthy for me, and it gives me my alone time with God that I need in the mornings to start my day off right.

2. Take a relaxing shower or bath!

~This is my most favorite way in the entire world to have my alone time. Sometimes I take a book with me. Other times, I just play on my phone or listen to music. I love to add my Young Living oils to my bath water because it really helps relax me. Whatever you decided to do, make sure it’s something you enjoy!

3. Do some gardening!

~This is a great way to spend some time outdoors in the fresh air. We moved recently so I’ve been spending my evenings trying to clear out a flower bed. It is so relaxing and helps me clear my head. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

4.  Take a drive!

~Okay this one does require you to leave your house but if you can do so with no children or spouse, it can be really relaxing. I like to get in my car and drive around the neighborhood blasting my worship music while giving the best karaoke performance of my life. ( It really is spectacular)

5.  Work out!

~If you prefer the gym, then by all means, GO! I hate going to the gym.  I don’t like going where people can watch me die while I attempt to exercise. I workout at home after my children are in bed. I pop in my 21 day fix workout routine and get to it. It helps me unwind from the day’s events and obviously it’s good for my health!

There are so many things you can do just to enjoy a little quiet time or just be alone with your thoughts. I also journal quite a bit because it’s my way of venting. I do blog some when I’m feeling creative as well!

This isn’t just something for you ladies, this is for men as well. My husband’s favorite way to grab some “me time” is by going out in his man cave and working on his guns. It helps him relieve stress and probably helps keep him from murdering his nagging wife. (Thank you man cave!)
